Imagination of Letters Poster (1993)
An elegantly designed and produced exhibition poster for the Ginza Graphic Gallery’s (GGG) 1993 show Imagination of Letters, celebrating the diversity of Japanese lettering. Highlighting various influences and styles such as Katakana, Hiragana, Chinese characters, vertical and horizontal formatting, and both Eastern and Western design approaches, the exhibition showcased letters as a central and powerful element in graphic design. The characters are embossed onto the poster in glossy black.
Held in collaboration with the periodical Vertical and Horizontal Type by Japan's leading font foundry, Morisawa, to celebrate its 10th.....
