A hand-colored etching of Middlesex by Emanuel Bowen "Divided into its hundreds containing the Cities of London and Westminster, Market Towns..." Emanuel Bowen was a Welsh map engraver, who became the Royal Mapmaker to both King George II of Great Britain and Louis XV of France. Bowen was highly regarded by his contemporaries for producing some of the most detailed and most accurate maps of his era.

Condition: Very Good, one 1.0" x 1/8" piece of tape along left edge; right edge has ghosting of previous tape; folded as issued.....

The first printing of Edward Camy's "good-natured" pictorial map for The Alaska Line of the Alaska Steamship company, showing the steamship route plus "suggesting some of the most interesting features of the Territory". Camy's whimsical drawings on the map include moose, bears, mountains, hunters, prospectors, walruses, sled dogs, reindeer, canned fish, oil fields, caribou, and other regional attributes. Seattle was the home of the Alaska Steamship Company and "the Alaska Line is Alaska's most important transportation link to with the States...this is America's last frontier, America's most varied Vacationland." Celebrating 100 years of the Scandinavian nation and delightfully illustrated, the map highlights regional names and cities, geological features, resources and commercial industries, various recreational activities, along with images of ships, sailboats, farming, mining, skiers, hikers, hunters, wildlife, and more. Published by the Swedish Institute and Swedish Tourist Traffic Association. With the credits running along the bottom: "Design: O. Laurelius. Printed in Sweden by Ivar Haeggstroms Boktryckeri AB. Originally copyrighted in 1936, this version was later printed in full color in the 1940s/1950s. There have been various editions of this print issued by Jo Mora Publications, in different coloring. This version, being on semi-glossy paper, is determined to be the 1950 edition.
