Whimsically illustrated pictorial map of California’s Sequoia National Park, created by Carroll Barnes in 1945. The verso lists 23 notable places and activities within the park, each corresponding to the numbers and names appearing on the map. Cartoon figures exaggerate the features, landmarks and animals of the park, highlighting the map’s dual function as both an informative guide and a collectible piece of ephemera. Such souvenirs became increasingly common as national parks grew in popularity as vacation destinations during the World War II era. Condition noted, and priced accordingly.

A mid-century travel poster for the American Mail Line, which operated cargo ships between the Pacific Northwest and Japan. The American Mail Line was a Seattle-based commercial steamship service active from the 1920s through the mid-1970s that also offered passenger travel on their vessels. Many cargo ships during the period were built to also accommodate a small number of passengers for tourist travel. The first printing of Edward Camy's "good-natured" pictorial map for The Alaska Line of the Alaska Steamship company, showing the steamship route plus "suggesting some of the most interesting features of the Territory". Camy's whimsical drawings on the map include moose, bears, mountains, hunters, prospectors, walruses, sled dogs, reindeer, canned fish, oil fields, caribou, and other regional attributes. Seattle was the home of the Alaska Steamship Company and "the Alaska Line is Alaska's most important transportation link to with the States...this is America's last frontier, America's most varied Vacationland." Folds out to 24" x 27" with one side having information on recreation for sportsmen and campers, resources, lakes and other points of interest plus a pledge for prevention of fire in the forests. Celebrating 100 years of the Scandinavian nation and delightfully illustrated, the map highlights regional names and cities, geological features, resources and commercial industries, various recreational activities, along with images of ships, sailboats, farming, mining, skiers, hikers, hunters, wildlife, and more. Published by the Swedish Institute and Swedish Tourist Traffic Association. With the credits running along the bottom: "Design: O. Laurelius. Printed in Sweden by Ivar Haeggstroms Boktryckeri AB. A hand-colored etching of Middlesex by Emanuel Bowen "Divided into its hundreds containing the Cities of London and Westminster, Market Towns..." Emanuel Bowen was a Welsh map engraver, who became the Royal Mapmaker to both King George II of Great Britain and Louis XV of France. Bowen was highly regarded by his contemporaries for producing some of the most detailed and most accurate maps of his era.

A collection of 41 Boston and Main Railroad photos taken in 1966 and 1967, with detailed location notes written on the backs of the photos, and stamped with the date and year taken. Photographer unknown. Generally taken in the areas of Troy and Lansingburg, New York on the Troy Branch of the railroad. The passenger train traveling from Boston to Troy, NY was named The Minuteman. The dates of operation for the B&M Railroad were 1836-1983.
