A professionally printed silkscreen or serigraph by Clementine Hunter, pencil signed with her distinctive backwards overlapping "CH". Clementine Hunter (1887-1988) was a self-taught folk painter from the Cane River region of Louisiana. Her brightly colored paintings depicted Black Southern life including weddings, funerals, baptisms, farming and domestic labor. A rare, original signed etching by Michael Bowen, the co-organizer of San Francisco's Human Be-In during 1967's Summer of Love. Bowen was also the co-founder of San Francisco's Oracle, the legendary counterculture publication known for its psychedelic artwork and multi-colored printing. Artist unknown, these examples were possibly created by an interior designer to propose interior remodeling ideas and scenarios to clients. On "Chimatco Illustration Board" that was manufactured by the Chicago Cardboard Company. Working primarily in the middle of the night with handmade pigments and watercolors gathered from his land in Colton Oregon, Melvin Edward Nelson (1908-1992) often signed his work "M.E.N.," which also stood for "Mighty Eternal Nation." An original "Free South Africa" subway drawing by Keith Haring. In the early to mid-1980s Haring drew with chalk on the black paper in the subway system that the New York City Metropolitan Transit Authority used to paste over expired advertisements and billboards. The blank, black panels would remain for a few days to several weeks before a new advertisement was pasted on top.
