A rare, original signed etching by Michael Bowen, the co-organizer of San Francisco's Human Be-In during 1967's Summer of Love. Bowen was also the co-founder of San Francisco's Oracle, the legendary counterculture publication known for its psychedelic artwork and multi-colored printing. Bowen painted and studied art throughout his life, along with practices and studies related to mysticism and spirituality. Bowen died in Stockholm in 2009. Finely detailed and printed in reddish-purple-orange hues. Signed by Bowen in pencil in the lower right, with "First State A/P 1974" in lower left, noting a first edition Artist's Proof of the print. Condition: Good- with overall toning and browning to paper, more prominent along edges; soft creasing and indentations to paper around border; edgewear and some foxing/spotting in borders; a 1" tear at lower left edge and pinholes in three corners.
