No. 102 of a limited edition of 150 handcrafted copies of an essay by British author and painter Denton Welch, detailing his first encounter with British poet Dame Edith Sitwell and her brother, Osbert Sitwell. Complementing Welch's essay are three detailed line drawings, later transformed into etchings by French illustrator Pierre Le-Tan. Edmund White provides a contextualized foreword, highlighting Welch's ability to infuse his literary observations with luminous, poetic and vivid detail. Letterpress-printed on deckled Arches paper at the Graphic Arts Workshop at Dartmouth College. Scarce.
