Purple Number 6, Winter '00 '01

The sixth issue of Purple's Volume II series, which ran from 1998 to 2003. Documenting fashion, prose, fiction, interiors and contemporary culture, this Winter 2000-01 issue features contributions from artist Richard Prince, Cheryl Donegan and Catherine Jutta Koether, Tim Griffin, and photographer Mark Borthwick among many others.

Purple, Founded in 1992 by Fleiss and Zahm, began as a magazine created in reaction to the perceived superficial glamour of the 1980s. With anti-fashion and avant-garde ideals at the core of its founding, Purple's aesthetic is closer to that of a fanzine than a traditional fashion publication.

Since then, the company has expanded to include a publishing house, an art gallery and several magazines dedicated to fashion (Purple Fashion), sexuality (Purple Sexe) and literary criticism (Purple Fiction). Through these ventures, Purple has established itself as a distinctive and influential force in the international fashion and cultural landscape. Item #2133.
