A rare copy of one of the five original commemorative silkscreen prints of Che Guevara, designed by Cuban graphic designer Félix Beltrán for the Instituto Cubano de Amistad con los Pueblos (ICAP) [Cuban Institute of Friendship with the People]. Commissioned by the government of Fidel Castro in 1967, the series was produced shortly after the execution of Guevara in Bolivia. A rare poster created and published to support the defense of Susan Saxe, a member of the Weather Underground Organization (WUO). Named after lyrics from Bob Dylan’s "Subterranean Homesick Blues," the WUO was a militant offshoot of the Students for a Democratic Society. The group’s revolutionary platform centered Black Power and opposition to the Vietnam War. Their major activities included several bombings and arson attacks from the late 1960s to the late 1970s, aimed at dismantling U.S. imperialism. On September 23, 1868 the Lares uprising was the first major revolt against Spanish rule in Puerto Rico. Text in English, Spanish, French and Arabic. Published by OSPAAAL, the Organization of Solidarity of the People of Asia, Africa and Latin America, with their logo in the lower right. OSPAAAL was established in Cuba in 1966 and produced anti-imperialist posters supporting socialism, armed liberation and solidarity among oppressed peoples.....

A vintage poster by Portland graphic designer Steven Birch with the image of Malcolm X and the phrase "Fight the Power!". Inspiration likely came from the band Public Enemy, who were touring the states in 1988-1990 with the release of their albums "It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back" and "Fear of a Black Planet". The song "Fight the Power" originally appeared on the soundtrack of Spike Lee's film "Do the Right Thing" and later on "Fear of a Black Planet". Printed on heavier, glossy paper stock.....

A double-sided flyer promoting a one-hour employee walkout and rally at Columbia University in support of student demands, which included abolishing ROTC, war research and recruiting, opening up apartments held vacant and ending evictions in area apartment houses. The flyer is printed in English on one side and Spanish on the other and is stamped March 26, 1969.
