Che Guevara Oversize Evergreen Review Poster (1968)
A huge poster reproduction of American artist Paul Davis' iconic painting of Che Guevara. The image was created for the cover of the February 1968 issue of the leftist journal Evergreen Review in the months following Guevara's death in October 1967. In July of 1968 the offices of Grove Press, the publisher of Evergreen Review, were bombed with a hand grenade by anti-Castro Cubans, thought to be in retaliation for publishing Guevara's diaries and the saint-like cover image. Grove Press owner Barney Rosset later filed a lawsuit alleging the bombing.....
