Ephemera: Installation Art
Ace Gallery exhibition flyer for Keith Sonnier's 1973 exhibition. The document includes a floor plan of the gallery and a short list of works including "amplified long and short wave radio receivers" and "32 air tracks" which is in keeping with Sonnier's sound based installations and performances. Sonnier is known for his radical and new use of materials, unbridling sculpture from its past, neon and sound based installations. Postmarked.
Condition: Good, creasing along top of the mailer.
Announcement for the Michael Snow exhibition at the Bykert Gallery in New York from March 27-April 17, 1971, consisting of two cards and the original mailing envelope. Snow, a Canadian artist living in New York at the time, is known for work in sculpture, experimental film and installation.
Condition: Near Fine, very soft creasing in upper right corner of one card.
Art & Project was an Amsterdam art gallery from 1968-2001 with a focus on the international conceptual art scene. Its founders, Geert van Beijeren & Adriaan van Ravesteijn, also issued a bulletin of the same name to serve as a vehicle for conveying ideas and as a networking tool for conceptual artists. A full-page advertisement cleanly cut from a magazine, most likely Art in America, for Edward Keinholz's installation "The Beanery" at the Dwan Gallery New York (1965) and the Dwan Gallery Los Angeles (1966) where the entire interior of the LA bar Barney's Beanery was re-created by Kienholz at 2/3 size.
