A double-sided flyer promoting a one-hour employee walkout and rally at Columbia University in support of student demands, which included abolishing ROTC, war research and recruiting, opening up apartments held vacant and ending evictions in area apartment houses. The flyer is printed in English on one side and Spanish on the other and is stamped March 26, 1969.
Condition: Near Fine, mild toning; stamped "Mar 26, 1969" on one side.
A Che Guevara "Day of the Heroic Guerrilla (fighter)" poster, produced by the Organizacion Continental Latinoamericana de Estudiantes (OCLAE). The OCLAE was established in Havana in 1966 and consisted of 36 student organizations from 23 countries that gathered together more than 110 million students from all over Latin America fighting against fascism, imperialism, and among other things, America's "war on drugs" which facilitated its aggressive and expansionist policies directed at Latin America. The poster promotes a week of events in October, with the year unstated. Design by Luis Balaguer.
An original, circa 1969 pinback button featuring activist, revolutionary and co-founder of the Black Panther Party, Huey Newton holding a rifle with the demand: "ALL POWER TO THE PEOPLE". Likely made and distributed by the Black Panther Party. This button was recently included in an exhibit at the Oakland Museum of California, and the consignor's original loan tag is included.
Condition: Very Good, light scratching to surface; rusting/oxidation wear to back of pin due to age.
