French Botanical Journal with Original Drawings and Two Lichen Specimens (Circa 1950)
Anonymous French botanical student notebook with many sophisticated ink drawings, rough pencil sketches and the occasional colored pencil drawing throughout, including two lichen specimens pasted in. The studies begin with La Fleur de giroflée (the wallflower) and go on to describe in depth different parts of the plant. Next are lichens, followed by mosses and vascular plants, conifers and flowering plants. With botanical notes legibly accompanying the illustrations. A wonderfully drawn vintage journal of plant anatomy. Text in French.
