A rare copy of American photographer Greg Cloud's 1989 photobook L.A. Dreams, known for it's late-1980s erotic Southern CA-infused color photos of nude L.A. guys, plus other scenes from the queer community. Cloud also has a credit as a still photographer on the 2001 independent film, The Fluffer. Must be 18 or over to purchase.
Condition: Near Fine, light scuffing to covers; now in a custom-made protective mylar jacket.

Exhibition poster published in conjunction with Martial Raysse’s 1964 at the Dwan Gallery, Los Angeles. The poster features black-and-white images configured into an upward-pointing arrow. The images depict Raysse installing and posing with various neon sculptures. Raysse’s second exhibition at Dwan included paintings and sculptures that bridged traditional forms with contemporary concepts, and featured the debut of works like "Spring", a piece exploring the relationship between nature and artifice through the use of neon light.

If there was a feminist history of the LA gallery scene in the '60s it would certaintly include Eugenia Butler. In 1968, she opened Gallery 669 at 669 N. La Cienega Blvd., a gallery with a short-lived but powerful impact. It was there that Joseph Kosuth had his first U.S. solo exhibition in 1968. After Gallery 669, Butler opened her own gallery down the street at 615 N. La Cienega Blvd. At the Eugenia Butler Gallery, Butler choose not to show the artists of the Ferus scene but instead tended.....

Ace Gallery exhibition flyer for Keith Sonnier's 1973 exhibition. The document includes a floor plan of the gallery and a short list of works including "amplified long and short wave radio receivers" and "32 air tracks" which is in keeping with Sonnier's sound based installations and performances. Sonnier is known for his radical and new use of materials, unbridling sculpture from its past, neon and sound based installations. Postmarked.
Condition: Good, creasing along top of the mailer.

A full-page advertisement cleanly cut from a magazine, most likely Art in America, for Edward Keinholz's installation "The Beanery" at the Dwan Gallery New York (1965) and the Dwan Gallery Los Angeles (1966) where the entire interior of the LA bar Barney's Beanery was re-created by Kienholz at 2/3 size.

Also included is a press release for H.C. Westermann’s LACMA Retrospective of 1968, which included 49 major works.
