Book Covering & Care Workshop, Ephemera Too!

An informal and fun workshop on how to cover your books with protective dust jacket covers, as well as mylar coverings for fine/vintage or fragile books without jackets. We'll also explore options on how to store and care for fragile ephemera such as vintage newsprint publications, prints, flyers and small paper items; plus a few tricks of basic book repair. Bring your books to be covered (limit 10 per person, 4 without jackets). First 2 books are free, then $2 per book to cover materials cost. You'll also have the opportunity to purchase book covering and ephemera storage materials at wholesale/cost at the workshop.

There will be a brief presentation at the beginning of the workshop, then the remainder of the time will be spent learning how to cover books in small groups. You don't need to stay for the whole time but can leave once your books are covered and you feel you’ve learned what you need. The workshop will be presented by Monograph Bookwerks owner, John Brodie.

Two time options are available:
Tuesday, June 11: Noon-1:30pm
Thursday, June 13: 5:30-7pm
