A corrected version of a survey by Douglas Keislar of microtonal keyboard design that originally appeared in 1987 in "Computer Music Journal," although with several errors. This reprint is an updated version that corrects the errors including "a layout problem where an entire paragraph migrated to the wrong section of the article." Written when Keislar was a doctorate student at Stanford, he received a PhD in 1991 and in 1997 became, and remains, the Editor of MIT's Computer Music Journal.
Published by the Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics at Stanford University. This copy is from the library of composer Douglas Leedy, and with a signed, original 1988 letter laid in from Keislar to Leedy thanking him for his contributions to the article. Item #936.
Condition: Near Fine, some aging to the book tape over side staples along spine.
