Pitch: for the International Microtonalist; Vol. 1, No. 4

The fourth and final issue of "Pitch," a periodical covering microtonal music theory and compositions which was "created to answer important questions concerning tuning alternatives.". This issue more a book-length presentation with articles on novel scales, non-Western tuning, plus interviews and reviews. With a 100-page section on musical instruments and fingering charts for recorder, flute, oboe, bassoon, clarinet, guitar and more. With a 25-page section "Who's Who in Microtonality" that includes biographical entries for microtonalists around the world; plus a "Fingerography," a bibliography of microtonal fingering charts. Overall an impressive document.

This copy is from the library of composer Douglas Leedy, with his handwritten notes in pencil in the margins of some pages. Leedy has also made a note (in pen) on the title page stating that issue "No. 3 is a cassette tape." Leedy's biographical entry appears on page 147. Item #935.

Condition: Very Good+, title written in fading pen to spine; corner crease to pages 1-6.
