The 2011 facsimile reprint, in an edition of 500, of Paul Thek and Edwin Klein's much-emulated and iconic artists' book that was originally published in conjunction with Thek's 1969 exhibitions that took place in Amsterdam at the Stedelijk Museum, and in Stockholm at the Moderna Museet. In the smartly-executed book, photographed from above, layered objects, ephemera and photographs move across the pages amidst a background of newspaper pages. An influential and key artists' book of the 20th Century.
This reprint was published by the Alexander and Bonin Gallery, New York with the oversight and assistance of Edwin Klein. It is a striking facsimile of the original, with the only noticeable differences being a slight amendment to the colophon on the inside of the white flap partially covering the front cover, a slightly higher gloss to the paper, and the addition of a custom printed box to house the facsimile. Like the original, now out of print and scarce. Item #855.
Condition: Near Fine, 1" diagonal crease at lower right corner of the white flap that covers part of the front cover; light wear to custom box, with a .5" tear near one of the box closure flaps, otherwise very nice.
