A deluxe hardcover book to accompany two presentations, in Munich and Cologne in 1989/1990, of Gerhard Richter's "Atlas" project. Includes hundreds of reproductions of images from Richter's archive, consisting of photographs, newspaper clippings and sketches that the artist has been assembling since the mid-1960s. Mostly in black and white like the source material, with a few color illustrations. According to the artist's website, these exhibitions were the second and third presentations of the Atlas project. An early and scarce book on the project, which has been gaining increased attention in recent years. Text in German (a 14-page essay by Armin Zweite, otherwise the book is all images). Out of print.
