The third edition of 3,000 unnumbered copies of Ruscha's first book, a compilation of straightforward photographs of gasoline stations taken on a drive from Oklahoma City to Los Angeles. Often hailed as the first modern artists' book. Glassine jacket is present. Printed by the Cunningham Press of Alhambra, CA. Item #794.

Condition: Very Good+, inscribed on the inside front cover "To John Happy Birthday Love, Br---y" (illegible) in ballpoint pen. Some toning, chips, rumpling and small tears to glassine dust jacket. At top of spine there is a .5" x .25" area of loss to glassine with a 1" tear to glassine at top of back cover, and rumpling and waviness to glassine on back cover (see photo). Glassine is now covered in a custom-made protective mylar jacket. Interior pages are clean and bright.
