June 5-30, 1962 exhibition poster for the showing at Martha Jackson Gallery of Alex Katz's stage set used in a Kenneth Koch play. The set came about in an example of New York School collaboration. Koch, inspired by Larry Rivers' painting, George Washington Crossing the Delaware, wrote a one-act play of the same name. After seeing an Alex Katz exhibition of figures made of canvas and wood, Koch asked Katz to create the set for his play, which was later installed for viewing at Martha Jackson's gallery. Item #759.
