Earth First!: the Radical Environmental Journal (7 Issues)

Seven issues of this environmental newspaper from the late 1980s to early 1990s. Earth First! was founded in 1979/1980 in Tucson in reaction to the perceived sell-out culture of mainstream environmental groups. As a direct-action group, Earth First! began with stunts and plans for wilderness preserves but later became more radical in its actions by staging tree sits, occupying forests slated for logging and sabotaging ski resorts and nuclear power plants. No compromise in the defense of Mother Earth! The various editors and editorial collectives listed for the issues include James Barnes, Beverly Cherner, Kristen Pulkkinen, Don Smith, Mary Lou Fox, Bikini, Billbob, Allison Slater, Timothy Bechtold, Dave Foreman, Erik Ryberg, Laureen McLane, Abe Ringel, Alex Williams, Peggy Sue McRae, Jim Flynn, Julia Roll and Mike Roselle, among others

Includes Vol. 8, No. 1; Vol. 11, No. 8 and Vol. 12, Nos. 3-7. Item #723.

Condition: Very Good, overall toning to newsprint, more pronounced at edges and along horizontal folds; some creased corners and minor edge tears to some issues; the word "free" is written in pen on four issues.
