Garment Label: Eldridge Cleaver Unlimited

Garment label with brown, stitched lettering next to a green leaf with the initials "ecu" in the center. The labels were intended for pants designed by Eldridge Cleaver, an early influential member of the Black Panthers, who in 1975 was living in exile in France. The tight black velvet bell-bottoms with a suggestive piece sewn onto the crotch were known as "virility pants" or "Cleavers," but never actually reached the market. Item #684.

Condition: Fine.
