E.A.T. Operations and Information: Newsletter No. 1

An "operations and information" newsletter published by E.A.T. (Experiments in Art & Technology) in November of 1968.

E.A.T. was co-founded in 1966 by engineers Billy Klüver and Fred Waldhauer and artists Robert Rauschenberg and Robert Whitman, growing out of the 10-day festival of experimental performances 9 Evenings: Theatre and Engineering held at the 69th Regiment Armory in New York in the fall of 1966. A program of Technical Services was established to assist artists by matching them with engineers and scientists. E.A.T. saw itself as a catalyst for integrating new technology into art, and eventually grew to 2,000 artist members and 2,000 engineer members, with local chapters established in numerous cities. Item #58.

Condition: Good, sun toning and yellowing to covers and to interior pages; rust to staples at fold and .5" circular rust bleed at spine fold to some interior pages and on back cover.
