The Last Whole Earth Catalog: Access to Tools

A first printing of the well-loved copy of the Summer 1971 almost-but-not-really "Last" Whole Earth Catalog, which Steve Jobs had called "sort of like Google in paperback form". With information on the tools one needed (and could order) to live with the earth, it features sections and products on whole systems, shelter and land use, communications, community, learning, nomadics and much more.

Of course, even though on page 2 it states "this is really the LAST CATALOG. Please don't send us your suggestions for new items..." it really wasn't the last Whole Earth Catalog. After its publication several other versions appeared including "The Last Supplement to the Whole Earth Catalog" and " The Updated Last Whole Earth Catalog" and even the "Whole Earth Epilog" in 1974. The 1980s and '90s brought "The Next Whole Earth Catalog," "CoEvolution Quarterly" and the "Whole Earth Review," plus 20th and 30th Anniversary editions. Due to size and weight, Priority Mail shipping within the US is an additional $5. Item #466.

Condition: Fair, wear and chips to paper wraps at edges and spine; rubbing and dings to edges; and a few small tears at edges of paper cover wraps; corner creases, dogears and scuffing to cover; now in a custom-made protective mylar jacket.
