Tramp Art and Bauhaus-Inspired Box

This Mondrian-inspired and "tramp art" styled box is signed and numbered by the artist, Bob Magahay. Magahay, a Hollywood set and costume designer made elaborate boxes such as this one for his friends and patrons. This box is made entirely from pieces of cardboard (the work is not glued to a manufactured cardboard box). The interior of both sides of the box include inlayed acrylic painted cardboard pieces. The exterior of the box is a multilayered construction of cardboard. Perhaps most pleasurable is that the lid of the box perfectly slides onto the base of the box. The work is numbered 90-144 which indicates it could be the 144th object made by Magahay in 1990. This is a perfect work in and of itself, or could serve as container for the most precious of things. Additional shipping rates apply. Item #456.

Condition: Near Fine, minor bumps to some cardboard piece edges.
