The 2018 bottling of our walnut ink has arrived - handcrafted single-origin walnut drawing ink made by Monograph Bookwerks co-founders John and Blair. Each year walnuts are harvested from a single black walnut Portland Heritage Tree (designated by the city of Portland for its size or age, a Heritage Tree must be at least 80 years old). The ink is made from the walnut husk, which is green when it falls from the tree and turns dark brown over time. The husks are slow-cooked (with other secret ingredients) to create the amber-brown ink. Intended as a drawing ink to be used with a brush or dipped pen, it can be used in fountain pens but be advised there is some silt to the ink, and when applied in very thin lines the color can be light.
Domestic shipping is $4 for the first bottle and $2 for each additional bottle - choose the Media Mail option at checkout (although your package will be shipped standard First Class mail). Item #408.
