Published on the occasion of the 2015 exhibition at Palazzo Fortuny in Venice, Italy. Presenting objects drawn from art, nature, physics, economics, history, science, music, medicine and many other sources, Vervoordt examines how we experience and are defined by proportion, in both number and balance, in our daily lives. Connecting ancient notions of sacred geometry with their links to religion and spirituality across civilizations, proportion is positioned as a distinctly human pursuit.
