Madonna Sealed Interview Magazine for Gucci SoHo NYC (2018)
Special republication of Interview Magazine's December 1985 issue, produced in 2018 to celebrate Gucci's new SoHo location at 63 Wooster Street. Founded in 1969 by Andy Warhol and John Wilcock, Interview has deep roots in the SoHo arts community, making it a fitting choice to commemorate the fashion house's new neighborhood flagship. The sealed publication reproduces Madonna's original December 1985 cover, while the reverse of the sealed sleeve features a stylized print of the SoHo neighborhood with a nod to Gucci's new address.
In addition to the original interview with the then 26-year-old Madonna, this special edition includes newly commissioned content, including an interview and editorial featuring rapper Nas, as well as a feature on artist and filmmaker Wu Tsang discussing her experimental documentary Into a Space of Love, created in partnership with Gucci, along with additional articles and features. The publication also includes special advertisements from SoHo businesses.
Interview magazine is known for its celebrity interviews conducted by fellow artists, actors, musicians and cultural figures. Madonna has appeared on the cover of Interview 11 times, more than any other individual in the magazine's history. She returned to the cover for the Summer 2026 issue (No. 567). Out of print. Condition: Very Good, paper sleeve with a .5" open tear at lower left corner of front cover; additional .25" closed tear along bottom edge of sleeve's front cover; moderate edgewear along top edge of sleeve with multiple small closed tears, all smaller than .125"; light edgewear on remaining edges; moderate soft creasing along all edges.
