A second edition printing of 2,000 copies, originally published in 1989 on the occasion of Galerie Janssen's exhibition bringing together every known painting from George Quaintance's male physique period. An influence on Tom of Finland, American artist George Quaintance's drawings of the 1940s and 1950s helped pioneer gay aesthetics. His idealized depictions of the strong, muscular male physique helped establish the macho man as a defining image within homosexual visual culture. Item #2166.
