Christopher Wool and Harmony Korine: Pass the Bitch Chicken
A collaborative photo and paint project between filmmaker/artist Harmony Korine and painter Christopher Wool. Passed back and forth, Korine’s original photographs are progressively distorted, generating a new visual language through layers of drawing, overprinting, and photocopying. The work invites the viewer to confront the visual “violence” imposed on the original images, while tracing the underlying structure that holds the visual narrative together despite its radical transformation.
American filmmaker, actor, and artist Harmony Korine is known for experimental work that frequently engages with taboo subjects through unconventional techniques. In this collaboration, Korine’s approach is in dialogue with Christopher Wool’s distinctive combination of cynicism, dark humor, and poetic restraint, developed through layers of creation and destruction across his abstract and text-based works.
