A rare first printing of American photographer JEB’s first self-published book. A collection of black-and-white photographs depicting lesbians from a wide variety of backgrounds and ages engaged in everyday life. By focusing on her subjects working, playing, raising families, and more, JEB’s photobook helped establish visibility for lesbian experiences, bringing a historically marginalized community to center stage.
the photographs are accompanied by writings that include both the personal stories of the women pictured and contributions from notable lesbian-identifying authors such as Audre Lorde, Adrienne Rich, and Joan Nestle. Item #1939.
Condition: Very Good-, moderate rubbing to front and back covers; tiny corner bumps to top right and bottom left of front cover and top left of back cover; front cover with 2" indented mark at bottom left corner; back cover with 1.5" soft crease along right edge; toning along top and right edges of paper. Now in a custom-made protective mylar jacket.
