One of only 800 copies published, this idiosyncratic catalogue accompanied the 2004 exhibition Mit einem Fuß in der Realität by Joëlle Tuerlinckx and Willem Oorebeek, held at the Badischer Kunstverein in Karlsruhe, Germany.
The catalogue features the respective archives of Dutch graphic artist Willem Oorebeek—known for his manipulation of printed matter—and Belgian artist Joëlle Tuerlinckx, recognized for her found-object installations. Included are personal notes, scraps, posters, newspaper clippings, and various ephemera. By pooling these physical traces from their daily practices during the creation of the exhibition, the catalogue serves as a parallel dialogue between the two artists’ creative processes and resulting works.
In addition to black-and-white scanned documents, photographs, and collages, the volume includes notes at the rear with contextual information on the artworks and brief reflections on how each piece may be experienced by the viewer. Text in German and French. Item #1936.
