Published on the occasion of Belgian artist Jef Geys’s exhibition at The Open Air Museum for Sculpture, Middelheim, in Antwerp, this scarce catalogue presents an overview of his erotic drawings. It features 110 black-and-white line illustrations depicting pornographic scenes inspired by art history, each juxtaposed with an oversized brand name or logo. Every illustration is numbered and paired with the name of a plant collected from the gardens at Middelheim.
The visual material is accompanied by a map of the sculpture park, divided into a grid of 110 cells, along with a list titled “Plants of Middelheim”—each plant name corresponding to the title of a drawing and its location on the map. One of only 1,000 copies. Text in Dutch. Item #1933.
Condition: Very Good, light soiling to front and back covers; red text and graphic design faded on front cover and spine; reader's creasing to spine; light edgewear; tiny corner bumps to three corners.
