Czech Avant-Garde Book Design 1920's-30s Poster (1996)

A stunning XL exhibition poster for Ginza Graphic Gallery’s (GGG) 1996 show documenting Czech avant-garde book design from the 1920s and 1930s. Characterized by innovative uses of photomontage, photography, and abstract geometric forms, this experimental design movement was heavily influenced by Constructivism and, later, Surrealism. The GGG exhibition showcased these trends through 120 books and marked the gallery’s first show focused on a modern design movement.

The poster was designed by Japanese book designer and graphic artist Koga Hirano, renowned for his typographic work featuring a wide variety of unique handwritten letterforms. In this design, Hirano incorporated the geometric elements central to Czech avant-garde aesthetics, blending them with his distinctive approach to calligraphy and composition.

Due to width/size an additional shipping fee of $15.00 will be added at checkout. Item #1897.
