The Poem Company: Set of 12 Booklets
A set of 12 Poem Company booklets printed and distributed by Intermedia Press, a project of Vancouver, B.C.'s collaborative art group, Intermedia, and published from 1970-1972. Different sources state that the booklets were either issued weekly or monthly (but likely intermittently), and numbered a total of about 50. Contributors were anonymous and the booklets are undated. All are 4.25" x 5.5" in size and range from 4-16 pages (including covers) but most were issued at 8 pages each. Most are staplebound with one or two staples, or sometimes unstapled.
This set includes two unstapled issues and one color issue printed in vibrant blues and reds.
Intermedia Press went on to publish six Poem Company monographs and anthologies in the early to mid-1970s, which became known as "Phase 2" of the project. "Phase 3" began in the later 1970s with a new series of booklets, but it totaled only about 6 editions. A nice grouping of these uncommon Poem Company booklets. Item #1886.
Condition: Very Good+; all issues with light edgewear; one issue with small corner bump and resulting corner crease; another with overall page toning; another with small corner bump, 3" soft crease, light soiling to front cover, and very light wrinkling from dried water damage on back cover.
