Inti-Illimani Set of Concert Ephemera (circa 1970s)
Three-piece set of concert ephemera from the Chilean Latin American folk music ensemble Inti-Illimani's performance at Reed College Commons. The set includes a concert poster, lyric sheet, and concert program from the performance.
Formed by university students in 1967, Inti-Illimani is known for its politically engaged music and unique sound, which blends traditional Andean folk music with contemporary Latin American and world music influences. The group plays more than 30 wind, string, and percussion instruments, and rose to prominence in Chile for their song Venceremos, which became the anthem of Salvador Allende’s Popular Unity government.
The program calls out KBOO Radio, the Portland Coalition for a Free Chile, Rose City Sound, and the Theater of Latin America in its acknowledgments. Item #1883.
Condition: Good+ poster, Good lyric sheet with a Very Good program. Poster has light edgewear; two sets of pinholes at each corner, plus two more along top and bottom edges; 4" area of surface rubbing; two creases along lower left edge, both under 2.5"; creasing and a 0.25" closed tear along lower right edge, all creases under 2". Lyric Sheet is folded as issued; overall toning; moderate edgewear along top and bottom; corner bumps to all four corners; three pinhole marks on left and right edge; soft creasing along bottom third and left edge. Program has wrinkling along top edge from dried water damage; crease at top right corner affecting first 9 pages; 3" black rub mark on back cover; light foxing.
