Henry Miller: Watercolors, Drawings, and his essay The Angel Is My Watermark (Signed)
Though often overshadowed by his literary legacy, American novelist Henry Miller is estimated to have painted over 2,000 watercolors during his lifetime. This monograph brings together a selection of Miller’s drawings, black-and-white reproductions of his watercolor paintings, photographs, and 12 full-color reproductions, accompanied by his essay "The Angel Is My Watermark". Together, these elements offer a rare glimpse into Miller’s vibrant visual world and the role painting played in his creative life. The color plates are printed on detachable sheets and inserted into mat frames, which are designed to be removable from the book for display or framing. Two additional slip-in mats are included inside the back cover. Front flyleaf is Inscribed by Miller and dated 1967. Item #1836.
Condition: Very Good–, fabric covering is worn away at the outer corners of front and back cover, the head and tail of the spine (approximately 1" each), and in a .25" area along the top edge of the back cover; Light soiling to the front cover; small corner bump to the top right corner of the front cover.
