dOCUMENTA (13): The Book of Books, Catalog 1/3
One of three major monographs published for the 13th edition of the German contemporary art exhibition, dOCUMENTA. Contributors from a wide range of disciplines—including art, science, philosophy, psychology, anthropology, economics, political theory, literature, and poetry—produced one hundred “notebooks” (100 Notes, 100 Thoughts) comprised of documents, commissioned essays, collaborative works, and recorded conversations, that were released individually as small notebooks in advance of the exhibit.
The Book of Books features a full reproduction of the notebooks (either as facsimiles or with entirely new layouts) and offers an in-depth overview of the exhibition’s central themes of collapse and recovery, responding to the political and economic uncertainty of the times.
In addition to the notebooks, the volume includes essays by Carolyn Christov-Bakargiev, Chus Martínez, Franco Berardi, and others, along with illustrated short biographies of participating artists, providing a comprehensive survey of the exhibition’s scope. Out of print. Item #1827.
Condition: Near Fine, with light edgware to bottom of front and back covers.
