SNCC: Complete Set of 5 Civil Rights Posters (Circa 1963)

An extremely rare set of all 5 of Danny Lyon's posters for the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC) produced circa 1963 from images Lyon's took at civil rights marches and other moments. The man kneeling on the left in the second poster is the young, future Congressman John Lewis, who was the Chairman of SNCC from 1963 to 1966, and one of the organizers of the March on Washington where Martin Luther King Jr. made his "I Have a Dream" speech. Lewis died in 2020.

The posters and their message played an important roll in pressuring the Federal Government to establish the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965. The 60th Anniversary of the March on Washington was August 28, 2023. Item #1590.

Condition: Fine, faint dimpling to two posters from previous rolling.
