San Francisco: The Exposition City Map (1912/1968)

An aerial view of San Francisco in 1912 as "the Exposition City". The Panama-Pacific International Expo was held in the city in 1915. This edition was "reproduced (in) 1968 by First Savings and Loan Association from the original lithograph in the collections of the Society of California Pioneers. Commemorating the opening of the First Savings Building, California at Sansome (street), San Francisco."

Printed along the bottom lower left and lower right are "Copyright By North American Press Ass'n 1912 Hearst Bldg. S.F." and "Pingree-Traung Co. Lith. S.F." An uncommon map depicting early San Francisco. Item #1514.

Condition: Very Good, some surface waviness from previous rolling; two .75" closed tears at left edge/middle and bottom edge/middle; four pieces of masking tape affixed to back at the four corners; a 2.25" crease at right/middle edge; dogear and crease to top left corner. (Please note: the reproduction reproduces the original soiling and tears from the original lithograph used for the reproduction i.e. they are printed in the image).
