Dog Map of the World (1942)
Designed by Joseph P. Sims and "derived from Youatt, Stonehenge, Watson and many other sources", this is the 1942 second printing of this map originally issued in 1933. Depicting 66 breeds, numbered, and with the corresponding numbers showing location of origin on the center world map.
The map states: "On the border of this Map are shown most of the breeds of dogs recognized by the American Kennel Club. With each breed is shown the country from which it came, the approximate date of founding of the breed, the maximum height at the shoulder, and the maximum weight. There is also given the classification group to which each breed belongs." Also includes Lord Byron's "Epitah to a Dog" printed near top. Some versions of the 1933 edition included advertisements along the bottom for Spratt's pet food. Item #1505.
Condition: Very Good, with some edgewear and bumping, more prominent along the top edge; linen-backed and with a high-gloss surface (unknown if glossy surface is original).
