A wonderful, oversize original graphite drawing of a Greek amphora vase, signed and dated by a German draftsman (bauzeichner), named Hans Wyler. The related text on the drawing is in German, including "Handwekerschule Oberhofen" or "Craft School, Oberhofen" along the top border. Handsomely lettered, signed and dated. An amphora is a jar with two vertical handles used in antiquity for the storage and transportation of foodstuffs, such as wine or olive oil. Condition: Good-, some edgewear and small closed edge tears (less than. 25" each); creasing along lower bottom edge near left corner and loss of .75" area to lower left corner; pinholes in other corner with tearing out of holes and paper loss to two other corners, with a 2" diagonal crease at upper left corner; rubbing to surface with some graphite spread; a long impression or scratch near base of vase image; some surface dimples.
