Drugs, Counterculture and Anti-War Button Collection: 24 Buttons (1960-'70s)

A collection of 24 counterculture buttons from the 1960s-1970s on the themes of drugs, LSD/acid, counterculture, peace and anti-war. Slogans and statements include "God is Alive in a Sugar Cube," Make Love, Not War," "Beware of Modern Hippies," and "Melts in Your Mind, Not in Your Hand." All buttons are vintage and original from the period, not contemporary reproductions.

Most appear to be from the 1960s, although many are undated and of course LSD buttons would have no accreditation due to the drug's illegality. The "Om Mani Padme Humi" button has a date of 1967 and was produced by Robert Rush. The latest date appearing on the edge of one button is 1978 for the black/white porpoise button along with the words "Unanticipated Intelligence / General Whale 1978 ©". Item #1372.

Condition: Very Good-, some soiling or marks to front of a few buttons where moisture or oxidation has gotten under the surface coating; rusting to the metal backs of some buttons.
