The Chamber Brothers and Iron Butterfly: Family Dog Productions Concert Postcard (1967)

The postcard for the Chamber Brothers and Iron Butterly at the famed Avalon Ballroom for two nights: April 28 & 29, 1967.

Chet Helms was manager of Big Brother and the Holding Company, which famously added Janis Joplin as its singer for a period. Helms formed Family Dog Productions, and began producing concerts at the Fillmore Auditorium in SF alongside a young Bill Graham. Helms and Family Dog hired a group of young artists to design the graphics for their posters and handbills, which became the standard by which all psychedelic concert posters would be measured. This card designed by Victor Moscoso, who became known as one of the Big 5 of psychedelic poster art. Item #1147.
