WET, "The Magazine of Gourmet Bathing and Beyond," was founded by Leonard Koren in Venice, CA and ran for 34 issues from 1976-1981. It became renowned for its unusual mix of design, fashion, art, nudity and the emerging wholistic health trends of the 1970s. While it was influential in fashion and design, it did regularly feature articles and information related to baths and bathing, saunas, showering and other manner of personal and public hydro culture. It also featured inspired ads for new and trendsetting LA brands and boutiques such as Peter Shire, The Soap Plant and others.
This March/April 1978 issue features articles on Henry Miller, bathing habits of non-human life forms, architecture for surreal lifestyles, a Dial soap use study, dogs, and more. Scarce. Item #1134.
