Ken Friedman: Events in Portland, OR; Portland Art Museum & The Earth Tavern
A set of four items of ephemera related to Ken Friedman's visit to Portland, Oregon in September of 1978.
1. A poster promoting three events: Sept. 22 at Northwest Artists Workshop (Critical Issues in Contemporary Art), Sept. 25 at The Earth Tavern (The Sociology of Art), and Sept. 26 at the Portland Art Museum (Fluxus, Intermedia and Concept Art).
2. The poster/flyer for Friedman's appearance at the Earth Tavern on Sept. 25.
3. A press release/flyer from the Portland Art Museum announcing Friedman's Sept. 26 discussion at the Museum.
4. A small (8.25" x 5.25"), 22-page catalog "Ken Friedman at the Slocumb Gallery," from East Tennessee State University, where Friedman was a Visiting Professor. The catalog was likely included as biographical material and accompanied the Portland Art Museum press release/flyer.
Friedman established "Fluxus West" in California in 1966 to represent and promote the work of the Fluxus group in the Western United States. Item #1067.
Condition: Very Good, posters folded; catalog has wrinkling due to previous moisture.
