Whole Earth Catalog: Truth, Consequences; January 1971

The January 1971 issue of the Whole Earth Catalog in the format that was formerly known as "The Supplement" and "The Difficult But Possible Supplement to the Whole Earth Catalog", in which the covers are not black but printed newsprint. A note inside the first issue of the Whole Earth Catalog states "If the content of the...Catalog is mostly products, the content of the....Supplement is mostly processes". The supplements were meant to be published in between the larger issues and offered corrections and updates to the previous issue, and were shorter in length. On page 40 of this issue are the corrections to the Fall 1970 catalog. Other articles and topics included are an articled entitled "Production in the Desert" telling the story of how this issue was produced in the desert inside inflatable domes, including some designed by Ant Farm; the potential for tokens in economics; sections on music, flying, how-to, listings for new products, letters received and more. Item #1025.

Condition: Good, edgewear and chips to newsprint covers; wear and small tears at staples along spine although still solidly attached; previous owner's name written on inside margin of page 3; age toning to newsprint.
