Sven Lukin: Pace Gallery

A clevery-produced flyer for Sven Lukin's May 19-June 13, 1964 exhibition at Pace Gallery, New York, showing the building's elevator buttons and "Lukin" as the destination on the 3rd Floor. The Latvian born Lukin arrived in New York in 1958, and was one of five painters included in "The Shaped Canvas" exhibit at the Guggenheim museum in 1964. His work in the '60s was a hybrid of painting and sculpture with a minimalist aesthetic, yet usually in brillant color combinations of teal, yellow, green, orange or pink. His works are included in the collections of MoMA New York, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Guggenheim, The Whitney, LACMA and the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, among others. Postmarked and hand-addressed on verso, with remnants of a black circular mailing tab seal. Item #554.

Condition: Very Good, slight edgewear and faint bump at fold.
