The Poets of the New York School at Gotham Book Mart
An announcement card for a publication party for "The Poets of the New York School" on December 8, 1969 at Gotham Book Mart. The book was published by the University of Pennsylvania and distributed by the Gotham Book Mart. The event was a chance to meet the poets and artists featured in the book which included John Ashberry, Barbara Guest, Frank O'Hara, Kenneth Koch, Fairfield Porter, Joe Brainard, Alex Katz and Robert Goodnough, among many others. Gotham Book Mart, now closed, was a legendary bookstore, writers' center, and literary salon. Item #471.
